At MDB, creating safer products is not just a part of our business - it is our business. We're a family-owned company, and we believe that a baby crib is meant to shelter, soothe, and offer serenity to your family's newest member - your baby. We take pride in the work that we do and the products that we make, and our commitment to safety is our commitment to your family, that MDB products will keep your baby safe, healthy and happy.
Safety is not new to us - it is part of our MDB history. Here are a few key safety facts about our company and our products to help show just how passionate about safety we really are:
MDB has never had a recall. And we work very hard every day to keep it this way.
We go above and beyond regulations. Aside from passing the CPSC's federal safety standards and being JPMA certified, we put our factories through even more strenuous safety criteria, passing both the meticulous Canadian and Japanese safety requirements as well.
Our paint is ultra-safe. One example of the above is our non-toxic paint standards here at MDB. We exceed JPMA regulations and go through annual paint tests. The results: To call paint "safe" means it has toxic materials under 300ppm, for a company to claim "low toxicity" means they have paint with toxicity below 90ppm - here at MDB, our paint levels come in at less than 2ppm.
Even our teething rail is safe. Our teething rail has also been tested and is phthalates safe.
We never settle for "good enough". We have created our own rigorous quality control programs to stay ahead of industry standards. We have a quality control team at our production site that individually checks and hand packs each piece to assure a high level quality and craftsmanship before we let our pieces leave our factory doors.
We are obsessive about quality – and check over and over again. Not only do we have a quality control team manually check our pieces before they are packed and shipped from the factory, but once the products arrive in the U.S. we have another team that assembles case goods here by-hand, and manually checks the individual pieces again. Like we said, you can never be too safe.
We care about the details. Another way that MDB is constantly taking extra steps to care and think for Baby is our "hidden hardware" feature. Almost all of our cribs (except Jenny Lind and Alpha), have this feature. We know that babies teethe and get into all sorts of mischief, so not having exposed hardware should give you some extra peace of mind. This is also the problem with many recalls, but our "hidden hardware" feature makes it near impossible to install incorrectly and builds for a much sturdier crib.
We are proud of our business. MDB is one of the Top 100 Fastest Growing private companies in Los Angeles for 2009 (we're #29!) and on INC 500 as one of "The Fastest Growing Private Companies in America", a list we've also been on many times before.
